Last Shuttle Launch
Miccosukee Indian Museum
A Window on our World...
During the month of December 2011, we implemented an outdoor digital signage system for the WNC Nature Center located in Asheville, North Carolina. The system is used as part of a cougar wildlife exhibit. It is fully automated and displays a looping video explaining how the cougars were brought to the Nature Center and acclimated to their new environment. Here are some photos of the installation and these beautiful animals.
On May 16th, 2011, we were lucky enough to attend the last launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour. We were also able to record the event using our high definition 3D audio recording rig. We hope to incorporate the launch recording into one of our future AudioActive 3D Sound presentations. Some of the pictures are courtesy of Ronnie Rodriguez.

Over the years, IMAGOS Entertainment LLC has had the privilege to be involved in a variety of projects which allowed us to bring our clients ideas to life. The Whitman Famliy Museum
Miccosukee Indian Museum
HM Pioneer Cabin Exhibit & Show
At the Western North Carolina Nature Center, we provided an outdoor sound system and pre-show for their Brandon Otter Falls animal exhibit and presentation.
Working with the Wildlife Center's Exhibit Coordinator, we installed a Technomad rPA 70 volt sound system (which included six Technomad Vernal 15t weatherproof loudspeakers and a CAD Audio wireless microphone system). IMAGOS Entertainment LLC created a two original audio recordings: a five minute show announcement and a pre-show introduction with music and voiceover. The audio tracks are played back via a BrightSign 320au audio player connected to a Bp200 touch panel mounted inside a custom weather resistant enclosure of our own design. It provides the Animal Keepers with remote control access (from the presenter's position) to the announcements as well as a Mute/unMute function. We also created a weather resistant wired microphone extension box to allow the Staff to connect a wired microphone in addition to or as a backup to the wireless system.
Use of the new sound system/pre-show has boosted attendance to an already popular presentation. It has provided the Wildlife Center with the additional capability to make timely announcements and provide additional content for seasonal events.
Working as part of a larger team, IMAGOS Entertainment LLC was brought in to provide all of the Audio/Visual components and show programming for the renovation of the Miccosukee Indian Village's Museum.
The project involved the renovation of an existing multi-purpose meeting room / theater to present a new Hi-Definition short film as well as the creation of a second smaller theater to present a different Hi-Definition short film (both films were specifically created for this project by FreeRoad Entertainment). A synchronized countdown clock system with custom content was developed by us for the main theater to entertain guests and alert them via voice announcements of when the next showing would begin. For the third gallery, we created and programmed an interactive touchscreen presentation concerning Miccosukee Traditional Arts. The final gallery was a diorama for which we provided a camouflaged sound system with digital audio playback. BrightSign and Gilderfluke products were used throughout the renovation.
Physical signage for the project was provided by Little Exhibit & Graphic Design with overall concept and design for the museum renovation by Osceolla Associates. Most audio and video content was created by FreeRoad Entertainment with incidental A/V content provided by IMAGOS Entertainment LLC.
For over 100 years, the pioneering Whitman Family of Miami Beach has had an influence and is still prominent throughout the city of Miami. The Family’s accomplishments range from innovations in the fields of marine recreation and horticulture to commercial real estate ventures such as “The Whitman” Art Deco hotel in 1935 and Bal Harbour Shops in 1965.
In 2011, the HistoryMiami museum of Miami Florida asked us to assist them in the setup and re-programming of the Family’s private museum “Home Theater” exhibit. This is where members of the Family could go and relax while watching their original films. We provided a new URC remote control system and a SONY Blu-Ray player. The project required custom interfacing solutions and the re-programming some of their original equipment. A tune up and alignment service was performed on the video projector and sound system.
In 2015, items from the Whitman Family’s private collection were to be placed on permanent exhibit in a new gallery at HistoryMiami. We were contacted by the Museum to provide an interactive video playback system for some of the original films and documentaries created by members of the Family. Working in conjunction with the Little Gables Group, we designed the system based on a BrightSign solid-state media player for video playback and interaction, a Planar 46" commercial monitor, an RDL audio amplifier and a pair of Klipsch speakers. The system employs industrial grade LED backlit push buttons Automation Direct. They look elegant, allow guests to make their video selection and can withstand the rigors of public use. At the Museum’s request, we provided a key-based lockout feature to allow the Staff to place the system in standby mode during curated tours.
The Whitman Family Museum
The HistoryMiami museum of Miami Florida engaged us to renovate and breath life into one of their original exhibits: the Pioneer Cabin Theater presentation. This exhibit, located in their Tropical Dreams collection, was originally based on a six projector multi-image slide presentation showcasing original photographs from the early settler days in Southern Florida. Due to the age of the presentation and equipment, it was in need of a major restoration.
Our task was to restore the analog soundtrack and create a new digital presentation which mimic’d as closely as possible the original six projector show (all on a limited budget). Another major challenge was interfacing with the existing speaker system, lighting system and guest control panel. A BrightSign media player was configured to act as show controller and HD video player. With the help of an HMS Electronics DMX Board and a Lightronics DMX Lighting Pack, we were able to control the existing lighting and interface with the guest control panel. A Gilderfluke AMP-50 was brought in to drive the existing speakers and an NEC projector with BLI DMX Dowser (along with some clever video design) was able to step in for the original six slide projectors. To provide ease of operation for the Staff, we built a Test and Safe Shutdown mode into the system along with a two button operator panel. The entire system is protected by a Furman surge suppressor. We also created a new “attract” loop, added Open Captioning in both English & Spanish and adding a “gunshot flash” effect to the show.
To provide for future growth and greater return on investment, the new system allows for the addition of other modes of operation such as “Live Presenter Mode” and “Alternate Program Mode”. The exhibit is now easily re-programable and expandable for the future. Guests can once again enjoy this great presentation on a slice of South Florida’s local history.
The Tropical Dreams Collection located in the permanent exhibits area of the HistoryMiami museum of Miami Florida, explores South Florida’s history from prehistoric times to the present day. Areas explored include First Arrivals, International Rivalry, Southward Expansion, New People - New Technology, and Gateway of the Americas.
IMAGOS Entertainment LLC was asked by HistoryMiami to assist them in renovating their older exhibit technology and audio presentations. We were able to obtain from the Museum's archives, the original audio recordings on open reel tape and transcribe them to digital media. Once in this format, we were able to restore them to a state where they were as sonically clean as possible without altering their original sound or intent. By employing Gilderfluke Sd-10, Sd-25 & Sd-25DMX interactive audio players & amplifiers, we were able to replicate the interactivity of the original exhibits. In many cases this also required us to interface the new systems with the existing guest operator panels and exhibit speaker systems or handset devices. This led us to develop an in-house speaker-level to handset-level adapter system.
With the renovation complete, guests can now experience the wonderful content offered by these original presentations while providing Museum Staff with systems that maintain maximum up time and minimal maintenance.
Once a year, HistoryMiami hosts a award ceremony and cocktail reception for the 11th Judicial Circuit Historical Society. The event illustrates the dynamic achievements of the honoree and their contributions to the legal community in South Florida. Legal Legends brings members of the legal community together to celebrate the history makers that have shaped the legal events of Miami, South Florida and the nation.
We are honored to have been selected by HistoryMiami, on multiple occasions (2010-2012 and again in 2015), to provide audio/visual and logistical support for the Legal Legends event in Miami, Florida. The ceremonies have been hosted by a variety of dignitaries including the Honorable Marilyn Milian of "The People's Court" television show, local television journalist Eliott Rodriguez as well as past Honorees.
For these events, we were responsible for creating the tribute videos, the event title cards, handling the live presentation and coordinating the audio/visual/lighting tasks during the ceremony. The tribute videos would many times require the restoration of heirloom photographs and recordings. Recently, we were also provided videography services as the Honorees were required to pre-record their acceptance speeches by the event committee.
